FAQ

General

Is there on-site support?

During the trail, you’ll always hike with experienced Dutch-speaking and local guides. They’ll provide the right support, clear guidance, and extra tips along the way. You’ll also receive a morning briefing every day with practical info and key points for the day ahead.

You’ll start and finish each day together as a group. Along the way, you’ll have some freedom, and the guides will spread out across the group. You’ll always hike between the guides, and we recommend not straying too far from them, as there are no arrows or trail markers along the route. That way, it stays adventurous — but above all, safe and worry-free.

You will also be given access to a chat group with all the other participants departing on the same date just before you set off. You can use this group to chat with each other or with our team.

What kind of footwear is required for the hike?

High-top hiking boots are mandatory. Low-cut walking shoes, running shoes, trainers, or other low-cut footwear are not permitted. The terrain is often uneven and challenging, so high-top hiking boots are required to provide adequate ankle support and reduce the risk of injury.

About The Jordan Trail

What is the current geopolitical situation in Jordan?

Jordan remains one of the most stable countries in the Middle East. For many years, the Hashemite Kingdom has pursued a moderate foreign policy and played a mediating role in the region, contributing to the country’s internal stability.

At the same time, Jordan is located in a region where the geopolitical situation can change quickly. Recent developments in the Middle East, particularly the tensions between the United States, Israel and Iran, have occasionally affected Jordan as well. These incidents mainly involved US military bases and remote locations, far from cities and residential areas. They also affected Jordanian airspace and the travel advice issued by several European governments. At present, these governments have an orange travel advisory in place, mainly because of the regional context and the uncertainty surrounding how the situation will develop.

That’s why we monitor the situation daily, in close consultation with our local partners and based on the official recommendations of the relevant authorities. If the situation changes to the point where we can no longer guarantee a worry-free travel experience, we will adjust our departures accordingly, as we have done in the past.

The safety and peace of mind of our travelers remain our highest priority. Above all, we want everyone to be able to discover Jordan in the best possible circumstances and fully enjoy this remarkable country, known for its welcoming people, rich history and impressive landscapes.

We will continue to monitor how the situation develops in the run-up to next year. However, we are fully confident that our trails can go ahead as planned next year as soon as the travel advisories allow it again.

Can I customise the trip to my own liking?

As we offer a fully organised trip, it is not possible to adjust the duration or itinerary. However, you are free to extend your trip independently by spending a few extra days on site afterwards, for example, or continuing your journey to another country.
